The Afghan Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is planning to spend $10 Million on a telecommunication project in 100 districts of Afghanistan

According to the ministry, the project will be implemented in 6 months, if there is no major security threat.

The ministry adds that more than $100,000 is allocated for each district, which will be paid from the ministry's development budget.

The project is already surveyed and will be put in auction to the private wireless communication companies soon.

"We have a new plan according to which we are delivering mobile services to more than 100 districts. The studies for this project is almost completed," Baryalai Hosam, the Technical Deputy of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, told TOLOnews reporter.

According to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, 250 districts in the country are under telecommunication coverage, that consists more than 80 percent of the Afghan population.
