A top official in the Afghan Ministry of Defence (MoD) Wednesday said that a lack of sincerity in the war against terror in the region will give birth to numerous challenges

Insurgents are a threat to Afghanistan, region and world and the war will continue if their safe havens are not wiped out outside Afghanistan, MoD said.

The MoD acknowledged that the insurgency in Afghanistan is fueled and backed by regional countries.

The spokesman for the MoD, Gen. Zaher Azimi, said that the Afghan government has been emphasising on the existence of militants' sanctuaries outside Afghan borders.

"Terrorism is a national, regional and international threat, and if there is no sincere partnership in the region. Those playing double game will be trapped," said spokesperson for MoD.

The US secret military logs published by wikileaks.org which unveils the support of Pakistani and Iranian governments to the Taliban is a reality, MoD said.

"The leak of US secret military documents only helps the world and the Afghan people understand the claims we made previously are true," he said.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the ISAF forces slammed the leaks of US secret documents.

"Firstly, they published classified material because it brings our people in danger, and secondly this is the only add that I would like to give you is that in the amount of documents as far as I have seen it, there is only news and surprise for those people who haven't read newspapers," he said.
