The National Unity Government (NUG) Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Monday said at the council of ministers meeting that government is committed to supporting a transparent and on-time election.

Abdullah also said the bitter experiences around past elections should not be repeated in the upcoming elections and urged the Independent Election Commission (IEC) to do its best to regain the public’s trust in the election commission and election process.

Meanwhile the Transparent Election Foundation of Afghanistan (TEFA) said they have used questionnaires in their survey and have received feedback from more than 3,700 people of whom over 40 percent have said they do not believe the election commission has the capacity to handle the upcoming elections.
