The Wolesi Jirga (lower house of parliament) on Monday granted a vote of confidence to the Minister of Defense Abdullah Habibi, Minister of Interior Affairs Taj Mohammad Jahid and chief of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) Masoum Stanekzai.
 
Over the past three weeks, parliamentarians at the Wolesi Jirga were angry with the security officials over the dramatic surge in insurgent attacks on key towns including Kabul.
 
But in Monday's session, the house expressed confidence over the security officials.
