Lawmakers in the Wolesi Jirga (lower house of parliament) on Monday approved an eleven article national unity consolidation plan. The draft plan will be referred to government in the near future.
 
In the plan, lawmakers have suggested government launch an independent and transparent investigation into recent incidents in the country and ensure the prosecution of the perpetrators who played a role in these incidents, they also asked the government to take steps and identify suspicious elements within the nation’s security institutions.
