The Russian embassy in Kabul said in a statement on Monday that there was no truth in claims by Afghan officials that they are supporting the Taliban. 

The statement called the accusation propaganda launched against Moscow and once again stressed Russia's contacts with the Taliban were only to convince the group to join peace talks.
