De Maiwand Atalan Football Club defeated De Spinghar Bazan F.C. in their first match of the semifinals of the Afghan Premier League (APL) on Friday.

Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and deputy head of the Asian Football Confederation were at the stadium to watch the match closely.

The match started with attacks by De Maiwand Atalan – the team which represents the southern zone and has performed well in this year’s tournament.

Faiz Mohammad Faizi of De Maiwand Atalan netted the first goal for his team in the 27th minute of the match.

In the first half of the match was ended 1-0 in Atalan’s favor.

In the second half of the match, De Spinghar Bazan attempted many times to score a goal, but did not happen.

Atalan striker Amruddin Sharifi scored the second goal for his team in a counterattack in 60th minute of the match.

Despite many attempts by Bazan, the result was 2-0 in Atalan’s favor after the match ended.

Faiz Mohammad Faizi was selected as the best player. Amruddin Sharifi stands on the top of goal scorers list so far in this year’s matches.
