An agreement was signed between MOBY Group and the Snow Leopard Fighting Championship (SLFC) on Thursday where the broadcasting company will promote mixed martial arts (MMA) cage fighting in Afghanistan.
This is another big step by the MOBY Group in promoting sport in the country after the launch of the Afghan Premier League in 2012.
“The MOBY Group is committed to promoting MMA fighting and bring some joy to the people and unite the people as it did with the Afghan Premier League; also it will broadcast international cricket matches for the first time,” said Massood Sanjer, director of broadcasting for MOBY Group in Afghanistan.
“In collaboration with MOBY Group, we want to introduce secret talent to the world and we want to introduce new faces by launching MMA cage fighting,” said Wahidullah Shafiq, a member of the SLFC board.
The Snow Leopard Fighting Championships was established three years ago and is Afghanistan’s only professional MMA organization.
Members of the organization said an international championship tournament will be held in Kabul next month.
