National Team Preparing For Match Against Zimbabwe

At least 25 members of the National Cricket Team are preparing in a training camp in Shah Amanullah Stadium in Nangarhar province for their upcoming matches against Zimbabwe.

The Selection Committee of Afghanistan Cricket Board will select 18 best players for the upcoming events.

The cricket board has invited well-known players including bowler Hamid Hassan and Mirwais Ashraf to play matches at the stadium in Nangarhar in order to prepare for the match against Zimbabwe.

The training has started at the beginning of this week.

“We have invited 25 best players here at the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Playground. We are trying to make a strong team from them and also prepare them for World Cup Qualifying round,” said Nawroz Mangal, head of the selection committee of the cricket board.

“This match and the training sessions have been launched to assess all the capabilities of the cricket players in order to select them for the next match,” said Wali Amin, member of the selection committee of Afghanistan Cricket Board.

Afghanistan National Cricket Team will pay a five One Day International (ODI) matches and two T20s against Zimbabwe in United Arab Emirates next year in February.

The national squad will attend the World Cup Qualifying round next year in March in Zimbabwe where eight teams will participate.
