In an interview with TOLOnews’ Lotfullah Najafizada, U.S President Donald Trump’s national security advisor H.R McMaster said on Sunday that members of the Taliban who refuse to join the peace process will be defeated on the battlefields.

He also said that the existence of a group such as Daesh was intolerable and that they are a threat to all civilized people.

On Pakistan, he said the U.S hopes Pakistani leaders will understand that it is in their interest to go after terrorist groups less selectively than they have in the past and the best way to pursue their interest in the country and elsewhere is through diplomacy not through the use of proxies and engaging violence.
