The 98th Independence Day was marked in various ceremonies attended by dozens of Afghans across the country.

Saturday, August 19, is marked as Afghanistan’s 98th anniversary of independence that was gained 98 years ago from Great Britain during King Amanullah Khan’s rule.

A concert was held in Kabul on Saturday under heavy security measures to mark the 98th Independence Day of Afghanistan.

The concert was scheduled to be held at Ghazi Stadium, but Kabul garrison did not allow it to be organized there due to security threats.
