President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday sent out the electronic National Identity Cards (e-NIC) roll out order which states the pilot project will start in 90 days. On 20 March 2017, government leaders agreed to start the roll out of the electronic identity cards on 22 June of 2017, but the president’s new order has delayed the process for another 50 days.
