The Afghan Traders Council in Dubai has said Afghans in Dubai are willing to shift investment to Afghanistan if security improves.
According to the Council, Afghan businessmen have invested around eight billion dollars in the United Arab Emirates.
Seventy five percent of Afghan traders' investment is based in the United Arab Emirates, especially in Dubai.
"The Afghan government should provide facilities for Afghan traders, security is the main concern. If the government gives traders land to construct plants and also provides electricity, why would the traders invest outside the country?" Head of the Afghan Trader's Council in Dubai, Obaidullah Sadrkhel, said.
Afghan investments in the UAE are presently based in the field of construction, production and processing of food and production of sanitary items.
The total amount of investments in Dubai is equal to the investments made inside the country, according to Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industries urges the Afghan government to encourage Afghan investors to focus on Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Head of the Foreign Relations of the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Azerakhsh Hafezi, said the level of industrial products is higher than other produce in Afghanistan and that 51% of what is produced inside the country is exported to other countries.
