A top ISAF official Tuesday said that the formation of local police forces is beneficial bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan

Director of force-reintegration cell, Major General Philip Jones said in an interview with TOLOnews that the Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs will supervise the activities of these organizations.

"The Ministry of Interior Affairs is setting up the systems to support these organizations, it is part of their normal organizations," he said.

The situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated comparing to other years, and the Afghan government should hold talks with those armed anti-government groups who are ready to renounce violence and accept the Afghan constitution, he said.

"The first step is for the government and communities to enter into a dialogue with those people who have become alienated with the government and communities.

These are part of your government; these are part of your Ministry of Interior. When they get trained, when they get deployed, when they exist, they will be very much parts of the government's ability to provide security for Afghanistan," he said.

The Afghan government and the foreign forces have decided to make local police forces as people in Afghanistan have undergone through many ordeals as a result of war launched by armed illegal groups in the past three decades.
