At least 11 people have died after heavy rainfalls and floods on Tuesday night in the eastern Laghman province

Heavy rainfalls have started and are continuing in Dawlat Shah, Ali Sheng and Qarghayi districts of Laghman, a spokesman for the governor of Laghman, Gul Rahman Hamdard told TOLOnews.

"According to our information so far, 11 people have been killed in these floods," he added.

He underscored that dozens of houses and hundreds of acres of cultivated land were destroyed in these floods, and most villagers have fled their houses.

Meanwhile, TOLOnews reporter in the eastern Nangarhar province said heavy rainfalls and floods have spread to Nangarhar and Kunar provinces as well.

Two weeks ago, 150 houses were destroyed after heavy rainfalls and floods in Nangarhar province, in which a woman was also killed.
