Time is the most important thing for Japanese people.

At noon, most of the state owned and private organisations' employees, even the high ranking officials are having their lunch outside of their offices.

In this country it is very difficult to find fully armed guards and cars with blacked-out windows.

Kyoto

Kyoto is an important traditional industrial city in Japan. Many temples, old palaces and gardens are located in this city and hundreds of tourists are coming for sightseeing on a daily basis.

Kyoto served as Japanese Capital from 800 to 1000 and that times empire transferred the capital from Kyoto to Tokyo at 1868 due to the influence of religious leaders.

Kyoto is the first centre for cultural and traditional religion of Japan. The traditional temples and gardens have kept the modernisation of this city.

It is known as the centre of Japanese researches. There are more than 50 research centres and universities in this city.

In the mid nineties, ten cultural sides from Kyoto were included in the United Nations Heritage List. Temples and one fortress were among these heritages.

Japanese Poetry

Despite having the top technology in the world, Japan has a very high literature rank. Japan has more than 1500 year's history of novel writing. The history of poetry reaches to hundred of years before Christmas

Haiku

Haiku is a type of Japanese poem which is vastly used around the globe these days and have been translated into many languages. Haiku is a short form of Japanese poetry formed of three lines based on Japanese language syllables.

Nowadays, Afghan poets are also writing free Haikus or translating Haikus from other languages. One of the features of Haiku is it keeps its original meaning and nature no matter how many times and in how many languages you translate.

Nature of the Poem

In Japan most people are interested in writing and reading poetry. This might be the because of its beautiful nature. This Interest is clearly felt in construction of colourful building. Beauty of nature is clearly felt in Japanese poem.

Matsuo Bashō

Today, after centuries of commentary, he is recognised as a master of brief and clear Haiku. He was one of the popular poets of the 17th and 18th centuries in Japan. His poetry is internationally renowned, and within Japan many of his poems are reproduced on monuments and traditional sites.

There are some similarities between Japanese and Persian poets in terms of Sufism.
