A 25-member national full contact team will fly on Wednesday to Azerbaijan to participate the 5th round of Full Contact International Championship.

The matches will be held in Baku between 15 nations and will continue for 4 days

The Full Contact Champions are held annually. In the fourth round of these competitions held in Iran, Afghan Full Contact Team received 2 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze medals and came second.

According to Shayan Amir Hussain Haidari, Head of Afghan Full Contact Federation, the team has been preparing for the matches since two months.

"Our contenders are fully prepared and confident enough to win the championship. With prayers from Afghan people, we will win the championship," he told TOLOnews.

Meanwhile, some of the contestants said that they are fully prepared to participate in a high level competition.

"I have been practising for two months and have tried a lot to win a gold medal from the competitions, other countries are also very strong in full contact and so is our country." One of the contestants said.

The Full Contact Federation was formed 8 years ago in the National Olympic Committee framework and so far has had good achievements.

"We have received 127 gold, silver and bronze medals from national and international competitions. We have received honorary medals from the Afghan President as well," Mr Haidari added.

According to Mr Haidari, currently there are around 8,000 people practising full contact in 18 provinces of Afghanistan.
