Ghulam Rabani Rabani, former president of Afghan Teakwondo Federation on Saturday warned possibilities of downfall of the federation in the world rankings.
He said that the current leadership of the Federation has sent a player to the World Armies Championship based on personal relationships.
According to him the player is not a member of the National Teakwondo team.
He also stressed that top players who are members of the National Team should participate in world class championships.
"If the National Army was not prepared to participate in the competitions, based on the regulations the top ranked player should have participated in the competitions, they had the choice to select the best player," he told TOLOnews.
According to Mr Rabani, if the current situation continues the federation will definitely face downfall in the world rankings.
Meanwhile, the National Olympic Committee says that the player is representing ANA in the competitions.
"The player who participates in the competitions has been sent by the National Army," Jan Alam, National Olympic Committee's Secretary General said.
On the other hand ANA's Sports Committee dismisses the comments and says that it doesn't have any player named Yama Bahawi and none of the players have been sent abroad.
"We never introduced anyone with this name to the competitions and we don't know about it," Ghulam Sakhi, ANA Secretary General said.
Meanwhile, the Afghan Teakwondo Federation says that because of introducing new Teakwondo players, Yama Bahawi has been introduced for the competitions so the Afghan federation could hold ties with International Federations.
"To hold ties with International Teakwondo Federation, he wanted to participate in the competitions."
Yama Bahawi will represent Afghanistan in -63kg in the first match against Jordan on Friday.
Almost one an a half years ago the Afghan Teakwondo Federation was ranked 7 but now it has fallen down to rank 15 in international rankings.
