“World’s Largest Picture Frame” Unveiled in Dubai

The UAE already houses some of the tallest buildings in the world, most notably the mega-tall skyscraper Burj Khalifa and now it includes the “World’s Largest Picture Frame.”

Situated in Dubai’s Zabeel Park, the structure simply dubbed as “Dubai Frame,” measures in at 150 meters or about 493 feet tall. It is highlighted by its 93-meter-long viewing bridge that features glass-floored walkways and panoramic views towards the old city of Deira to the north, and the skyscrapers of Sheikh Zayed Road toward the south.

Visitors will be led into an interactive, augmented reality exhibition that showcases the history and future of the city.

While this new structure was erected a decade after it was initially proposed, the project has received some controversy lately. It was recently revealed that the idea of the design may have been stolen from the original architect.
