Afghan Cricket Team Heads Off To Play West Indies

The Afghan national cricket team wrapped up their training sessions in India on Tuesday before flying off to take on the West Indies in three T20 and three One Day International (ODI) matches. 

According to the Afghan Cricket Board, the team will play West Indies in their first match, a practice match, on Tuesday on the island of St Kitts. 

The team will then play three T20 matches at the Warner Park stadium in Basseterre, St Kitts, from June 2, before moving on to the island of St Lucia.

The ODI’s will be played at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet in St Lucia from June 9. 

The Afghan national team beat the West Indies in their match at last year’s T20 World Cup – however, the West Indies went on to win the championships.

The West Indies cricket team, popularly known as the Windies, is a multi-national cricket team representing the West Indies Cricket Board, a confederation of 15 mainly Caribbean countries.
