Afghanistan Beats Uzbekistan 4-2 In Ashgabat Futsal Match

Afghanistan’s National Futsal Team beat Uzbekistan 4-2 in their third match in the fifth Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat on Wednesday. 

Uzbekistan, a fierce opponent, had been listed as among the top two winners at last year’s games. 

Afghanistan will play the United Arab Emirates on Friday in the last of their group match. 

The Afghan squad has so far beaten China 6-1 and Maldives 6-1. 

According to Afghanistan Football Federation, the Afghan National Futsal Team is the youngest futsal squad at the games with players averaging 22 years of age. 

Meanwhile, UAE and Maldives have the oldest players on average with the ages averaging 27 years old. 

At the end of the fourth day of the games, Afghanistan has won 1 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze medals and is in 20th position on the medal table. 

Sixty four 64 countries are participating across 21 sporting codes, with an estimated 6,000 athletes taking part.
