Afghanistan Set To Play Ireland In U19 World Cup Match

The Under-19 National Cricket Team is all set to face Ireland in the last of their group matches in the ICC U19 World Cup 2018.

The match will start at around 2:30am Kabul time on Saturday.

Afghanistan Cricket Board spokesman Farid Hotak said the national team is fully prepared to face Ireland in the cricket match.

“The players are fully prepared. They were sent to New Zealand ahead of the World Cup to conduct their exercises and get familiar with the environment and pitches,” he said.

The national team players said they have gone through tough exercise routines and that they are well prepared to face their rival.

In their upcoming match on Monday – in the quarterfinals, a place they have already secured - Afghanistan will play either South Africa or New Zealand.

The match will be held in New Zealand.

Afghanistan is in Group D. Sri Lanka plays Pakistan this weekend with the winner joining Afghanistan in the quarter-finals.
