The Afghan National Futsal Team lost the chance to play in the AFC Asian Cup 2019 after they were defeated by Iran and Tajikistan in the qualifying round.
 
The matches were held in Tabriz city in Iran on Sunday and Monday respectively. 
 
“Though I don’t believe in luck but Tajikistan was really lucky in the match because most of our attacks were missed and we failed to defeat the team. We thank our people because they have always supported us and we apologize to our nation because we failed to succeed,” said Abdul Razaq Mumrak, head coach of the national team.
 
The match between Afghanistan and Iran ended 8-2 in Iran’s favor while the second game against Tajikistan ended 4-3.
