Toofan Harirod and Simorgh Alborz Match Ends In Draw

Thursday’s Afghan Premier League (APL) match saw Toofan Harid take on Simorgh Alborz but despite an aggressive game the two teams managed only one goal each.

Neither was able to bring the other to its knee and by full time the score was 1-1.

The first goal was netted by Ghulam Reza Yaqoubi of Simorgh Alborz in the first half, while Simorgh Alborz Qais Rahimi scored his team early in the second half – equalizing the score.

However, fans were left disappointed when neither team managed to break the deadlock.

This comes after Toofan Harirod took an immediate lead against De Maiwand Atalan in their first group stage match but were unable to hang on to their advantage when they conceded defeat to Atalan, with a score of 4-2 to Atalan.

Simorgh Alborz triumphed 1-0 over De Abasin Sape in their first group stage match and sealed three points. Ahead of the game the team manager Taj Mohammad Khudadad said: “We are aware that today’s match against Toofan Harirod will not be an easy one; however, our players will not give up. Simorgh Alborz will win a title this year, that is why we are here.”

Shaheen Asmayee of Kabul is expected to play rival Mawjhai Amu that represents the north-eastern of Afghanistan in Friday’s match.
