Afghan U-14's Through To Semis After Punjab Team Refuse To Play

Afghanistan's Under -14 team was scheduled to play the Punjab team in the last round of Group D matches in the Suborto Cup Championship 2016 in India on Monday, but Punjab refused to play the Afghan boys.

This secured the Afghan's a place in the semi-finals after organizers ruled the game a 3-0 win in favor of Afghanistan.

Punjab's team on Sunday simply refused to play Afghanistan in the last match of the D Group after the Afghan team won all its preceding group matches – even thumping Sri Lanka 22-0 last week.

Afghanistan scored in total 36 goals and logged 12 points.

The Afghan boys are said to be muscular, fit and quick on their feet and sounded a huge warning to other teams in this tournament.

Afghanistan's team will know later Monday who it will face in the semi-finals.

The team has so far not conceded a signal goal and hopes are raised that the team will return home with the cup.
