Afghanistan's Under-14 football team, currently taking part in the Subroto Cup 2016 championships in India, thumped Sri Lanka on Thursday when they defeated their hapless opponents a resounding 22-0.
The Afghan boys are said to be muscular, fit and quick on their feet and have sounded a huge warning to other teams in their Pool D group.
Mohammad Asgar, Ahmed Rasheed and Mustafa shared the bulk of scoring for the Afghanistan outfit in what turned out to be a woefully one-sided affair.
After a whirlwind start to the tournament, the schoolboys on Friday showed maturity and calmness as they went on to score a 3-0 triumph over St Xavier's HSS from Chhattisgarh in their Pool D league game at the Ambedkar Stadium in Delhi.
This was their second match in the tournament, and the win gave them a 25 point tally – the leading score board so far.
