Tajikistan’s Hosilot FC on Tuesday defeated Afghanistan’s Shaheen Asmayee FC team, who are last year’s winner of the Afghanistan Roshan Premier League (APL), in their first match of the AFC Cup 2019 qualifying round in Dushanbe.

In the 35th minute Samiullah Mohammadi from Shaheen committed a foul and received a yellow card. This was an opportunity for Hosilot to strike, which paid off as they scored the first and only goal. 

Shaheen started the second half with repeated strikes but lost a number of opportunities to equalize. 

However, in the 53rd minute of the match, Amrudin Sharifi from Shaheen hit the net but his goal was disallowed as he was off-sides.  

The second match between the two teams will be held in Dushanbe on February 7.
