4 Civilians Killed In Roadside Mine Blast In Farah

Local officials said the mine had been planted recently by the Taliban who intended to target security forces.

At least four civilians were killed when their vehicle struck a roadside mine in Farah province in Monday night, local officials said Tuesday.
 
Police spokesman Mohammad Aqbal Bahir confirmed the incident and said the blast happened in Pusht Rod district when a vehicle hit a roadside mine.
 
Two women are among the victims, Bahir added.
 
Bahir said that the mine was recently planted by Taliban insurgents to target security forces.
 
The Taliban has not commented.
