At least 67 insurgents have been killed in the past 24 hours in operations launched by the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) and the Afghan Air Force (AAF) in different parts of the country.
Ministry of Defense (MoD) said on Friday morning in a statement 67 insurgents have been killed in the last 24 hours across the country.
According to the ministry, the operations were launched in Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Logar, Kandahar, Badghis, Faryab, Baghlan, Balkh and Helmand provinces.
Along with the AAF and ANDSF, commando forces were also involved in the operations, said the ministry.
Defense ministry said in total 12 joint offensive and clearing operations were launched and the AAF carried out 12 airstrikes against insurgents strongholds and hide-outs.
“In the last 24 hours, ANDSF launched 12 joint offensive and clearing preplanned operations and the Commando forces did 114 special tasks and the AAF did 12 strikes on insurgents strongholds in different parts of the country. As a result of these operations, 67 insurgents have been killed,” read the statement.
Defense ministry statement also said 28 insurgents have been wounded in these operations.
AAF targeted insurgents strongholds in parts of Ghazni, Farah, Uruzgan, Helmand and Nangarhar provinces, read the statement.
Defense ministry also said a number of insurgent’s weapons and their hide-out have been destroyed in these operations.
