84 People Rescued From Taliban Prison In Faryab

At least 84 people were rescued from a Taliban prison in a night raid in northern Faryab province on Wednesday night, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement on Thursday.

The night raid was conducted by Afghan commandos with support of Resolute Support forces in Shakh village of Qaisar district where the Taliban prison was destroyed, the statement said.

“At least 20 Taliban terrorists, four members of Daesh and eight foreigners who were among the prisoners were identified and arrested,” the statement said.

Three Taliban fighters were killed in the operation, the statement added.

Taliban has not commented on this report.
