An army battalion chief and one soldier were killed during clashes with Taliban in Arghandab district of Zabul province on Wednesday, local officials said.
Barat Khan, the Arghandab district governor, confirmed the incident and said the clash is ongoing between the Taliban and government forces.
Meanwhile, in a separate Taliban attack, two policemen were wounded in Shahr-e-Safa district of Zabul province, officials said.
There were no details on the Taliban casualties in either incident and the Taliban has not commented.
