Blast At Wedding Ceremony In Nangarhar Leaves Six Dead

A suicide bombing at a wedding ceremony in the eastern province of Nangarhar left six people dead and more than 14 others wounded, the provincial governor’s spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said.

The blast happened at early hours of Friday morning in Pachir Aw Agam district of Nangarhar when the guests were gradually gathering to celebrate the wedding ceremony, Khogyani said.

Khogyani said that the suicide bombing was carried out by a minor.

He said the wedding ceremony was from the nephew of the head of the public uprising forces in the district who was the target of the explosion and lost his life in this incident. 

The Taliban in a statement said the group has no involvement in the incident. 

Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack.
