Contracted Helicopter Crashes At Balkh Army Base

A helicopter, contracted to the Afghan army, crashed at Shaheen Military Corps in northern Balkh province on Sunday morning, a military source confirmed to TOLOnews.

The incident took place about 7:30am local time after a helicopter which was transferring 10 soldiers to northern Faryab province from the military corps crashed due to technical issues, according to the source.

“So far, we have reports that three soldiers were injured in the incident and it happened just when the helicopter was taking off from the military corps,” the source said.

However, the source did not provide further details about the incident.

Officials have not yet commented.
