Officials from the Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Sunday said that the results of 3,763 polling centers from across the country have arrived in Kabul, and the current count of presidential votes is 2,196,463. 

Speaking at a news conference in Kabul, the Election Commission's chief Hawa Alam Nuristani said that the organization is determined to protect the votes of the Afghan people and prevent any kind of fraud. 

According to the IEC, the results from another 786 centers (8,161 polling sites) are on their way, but the latest figures put the number of current votes to 2,196,463. 
 
“Initially 5,373 polling centers were supposed to be operational, which makes 29,586 polling sites. From the original number, 617 centers remained closed and another 234 centers aren’t reliable and it’s difficult to say whether elections were held there or not,” said IEC commissioner Maulana Abdullah.

Overview of current results from 26 provinces: 

1.            Paktia registers 43,590 votes from 155 polling centers 
2.            Panjshir registers 19,205 votes from 96 polling centers 
3.            Takhar registers 14,466 votes from 41 polling centers 
4.            Jawzjan registers 36, 910 votes from 51 polling centers 
5.            Khost registers 93,205 votes from 182 polling centers 
6.            Daikundi registers 114, 310 votes from 243 polling centers 
7.            Zabul registers 17,579 votes from 22 polling centers 
8.            Sar-e-Pul registers 35,509  votes from 64 polling centers 
9.            Samangan registers 25,230 votes from 36 polling centers 
10.          Ghazni registers 22,568 votes from 101 polling centers 
11.          Ghor registers 35,371 votes from 74 polling centers 
12.          Faryab registers 31,674 votes from 60 poling centers 
13.          Kabul registers 458,549 votes from 474 polling centers 
14.          Logar registers 19,189 votes from 30 polling centers 
15.          Nangarhar registers 254,871 votes from 390 polling centers 
16.          Nuristan registers 17,507 votes from 25 polling centers 
17.          Nimroz registers 12,673 votes from 12 polling centers
18.          Herat registers 104,459 votes from 166 polling stations 
19.          Helmand registers 70,218 votes from 161 polling centers 
20.          Maidan Wardak registers 20,560 votes from 64 polling centers 
21.          Balkh registers 74,441 votes from 155 polling centers 
22.          Urozgan registers 4,414 votes from 24 polling centers 
23.          Bamiyan registers 84,124 votes from 218 polling centers 
24.          Badghis registers 6,889 votes from 27 polling centers 
25.          Badakhshan registers 6,889 votes from 17 polling centers 
26.          Baghlan registers 44,777 votes from 104 polling centers
