The Afghan security forces foiled 12 Taliban attacks in five districts of the province on Wednesday, provincial police chief Farid Mashal claimed on Thursday.
Taliban launched attacks in Qarabagh, Gelan, Khawja Omari, Andar and Muqor districts on Wednesday but all of their attacks have been repelled by the security forces, according to Mashal.
“Nineteen Taliban insurgents were killed in clashes with the security forces and six others were wounded,” he said, adding that “one policeman was killed in the clashes and two others were wounded.”
However, he did not provide further details.
The Taliban have not yet commented.
