Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in Kabul on Saturday to participate in the Afghanistan-China-Pakistan trilateral meeting.
 
Qureshi is accompanied by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua and other senior officials of Pakistan's foreign office, Pakistani media reported. 
 
The Express Tribune said in a report that speaking to the media before departure, the foreign minister welcomed the Chinese initiative of holding the trilateral dialogue. 

He said that, “both Pakistan and China desire peace, stability, prosperity and development in Afghanistan”, adding that we are carrying the message of friendship and peace to Afghanistan.
 
Foreign ministers of Afghanistan, Pakistan and China will meet in Kabul today to continue their efforts on “building political mutual trust and support reconciliation, development cooperation and connectivity, security cooperation and counter-terrorism”.

The foreign ministers are also expected to reiterate their support to an “inclusive” Afghan-owned, and Afghan led peace process.

It is the second meeting of the three foreign ministers after their kick off meeting in Beijing last year. 

The three foreign ministers are expected to meet in Islamabad next year.
