Prayer Ceremony Held For TOLOnews Journalists

Prayer ceremony for TOLOnews journalists Samim Faramarz and Ramiz Ahmadi was held in Kabul on Friday which was attended by their families, friends, politicians and Kabul residents.

Faramarz and Ahmadi lost their lives on Wednesday in Dasht-e-Barchi area when they were converting a blast when the second explosion happened.

Attendees of the prayer ceremony blasted government over its “failure” in maintaining security.

“Killing of people is permitted in no religion,” Ahmad Reshad Memozai, a resident of Kabul, said.

Faramarz and Ahmadi’s relatives said the two journalists had lots of dreams to pursue, but they took their dreams to grave with themselves.

“Ramiz used to say that he will become an MP. But now he has gone and left us in deep sorrow,” said Haroon, brother of Ahmadi.

“Samim was a talented boy and I cannot believe that he is no more,” said Suhail, Faramarz’s cousin.

Former military officers and politicians who had attended the prayer ceremony said government has been unable in ensuring the safety of the Afghan people.

“The National Directorate of Security should be more active in identifying enemies. If the NDS monitors the enemies when they leave their centers, then it can prevent them from carrying out attacks,” said Ayub Salangi, former deputy minister of interior.

“The National Unity Government’s leadership does not hear what people want,” said Sediq Patman, former deputy minister of Education Ministry.

Meanwhile, prayers ceremonies were held in a number of other provinces for the victims of the Kabul blasts.

“It is the responsibility of government to safeguard such events,” said Aziz Shafi, a resident of Helmand.

Wednesday bombing took the lives of 26 people and wounded nearly 100 others. Eyewitness however say the causalities is much higher.
