Security Forces Re-Open Nad Ali Highway To Traffic

The Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) re-opened the stretch of highway between Lashkargah and Nad Ali district of southern Helmand province to traffic late Wednesday after nearly six months, local officials said on Thursday.

Gen. Abdul Hadi, deputy head of 215 Maiwand Military Corps said the military operation was launched nine days ago and that it is still ongoing.

He said in this time, at least 120 insurgents were killed and 50 others were injured.
