Seven Children Killed In A Taliban Explosion In Faryab: Officials

At least seven children were killed and five others were wounded in an IED explosion in Faryab province on Friday, local officials said Saturday.
 
Ghulam Ali CID director for Sherentagab district police headquarters said the incident occurred in an area which fell to the Taliban last week - in Koh Sayyad of Sherentagab district.
 
Ali said that Taliban had placed an IED in Koh Sayyadarea and eleven children playing in the area were hit.  
 
According to Ali two of the wounded children lost their limbs and are in a critical condition. They have been transferred to Jawzjan hospital. 
 
Three other children have been admitted to a hospital in in Maimana City, the capital of Faryab province.
 
Taliban has not yet commented.
