Officials in Khost said on Thursday two suspects behind the killing of BBC Pashto reporter Ahmad Shah were arrested in the province.
Khost Governor Hukum Khan Habibi said that besides arresting the suspects, government forces detained plotters of the attack on Yaqubha Mosque in the province.
He said the investigation into the incidents is ongoing.
He did not give information about how many suspects were arrested.
Ahmad Shah was shot dead by unknown armed men in on April 30, in the city while on his way home.
Shah joined BBC a year ago and was based in Khost.
