Taliban shadow district governor and two other insurgents were killed in a foreign troops airstrike in north-eastern Kapisa province on Tuesday, local officials claimed.
In addition, a number of other Taliban were wounded in the airstrike.
The incident happened in Alasay district of the province after foreign troops targeted Qari Yousuf, the shadow district governor and another insurgent, according to the local security officials.
A local police official also confirmed that a woman was also wounded in the airstrike.
The officials did not provide further details about the airstrike.
The Taliban have not yet confirmed the death of their shadow district governor.
