Those Want War Will Be Suppressed By Force: Mohib

President Ashraf Ghani’s National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib on Saturday said peace talks will be conducted with those who are ready for reconciliation and want peace from their hearts.

Addressing an event in Kabul on Saturday, Mohib warned that those militants who want war and want to destroy Afghanistan for the interests of foreigners will be stopped and curbed by the Afghan forces.

“As we do not differentiate between good and bad insurgents, after this there will be no differentiation between good and bad enemy. We will use all the force to curb those who want war, kill Afghans and those who want to destroy Afghanistan because of the interests of others or create threat,” Mohib said.

According to Mohib, anyone who wants to damage the system is considered as the enemy of Afghanistan adding that there is no difference between good and bad terrorists.

Meanwhile, Assadullah Khalid, who took the charge as the acting defense minister following a decree by President Ghani last week, vowed further reforms in the Ministry of Defense and a thorough attention to the Afghan forces, who he described as the owners and decision makers of this country.

Khalid takes the charge amid reports about a sharp increase in government forces casualties on the battlefields. Meanwhile, there are reports about a rise in civilian casualties in Afghan and foreign forces operations in different parts of Afghanistan.

But Khalid said he will want practical work from his stuff members and he will leave the judgment to the people on his activities.

He said he is sure that the nation trusts him while assuring that the ministry will serve the soldiers who are on the frontline and that he will not allow bureaucracy in the ministry.

Khalid said the Afghan forces will be on the offensive against militants.

“After this, our slogan will be to kill the enemy and eliminate their strongholds. We must go after the enemies’ strongholds,” Khalid said.
