Three policemen were killed in a Taliban ambush in central Logar province on Wednesday, local official said on Thursday.

In addition, another policeman was wounded.

The incident happened while the policemen were on patrol in Do Shekh area in Barak-e-Barak, a spokesman for the provincial governor Saleem Saleh said.

“The Taliban have stolen one of the vehicles of the policemen and escaped from the area,” Saleh said.

Taliban insurgents have increased their attacks on police and frequently target their convoys.
