Troops Free 58 Prisoners From Taliban Jail In Helmand

At least 58 prisoners were freed by Afghan security forces during a clearing operation on an illegal Taliban prison in Helmand province, security forces said in a statement. 

According to the statement the operation was conducted in Mosa Qala district. 

Among the prisoners were four ANA soldiers, 15 policemen, and two doctors, the statement said. 

During the operation four insurgents were arrested.

No further details were given nor did officials say how long the prisoners had been held. 

Taliban has not yet commented on the operation. 

There were no reports on casualties among security forces.
