Two US Service Members Killed In Afghanistan

The NATO’s Resolute Support mission in a statement on Friday confirmed that two US service members were killed while conducting an operation March 22.

In accordance with US Department of Defense policy, the name of the service members killed in action are being withheld until 24 hours after notification of next of kin is complete, the statement said. 

The statement, however, has not mentioned the area of the operation. 

More than 2,400 US military personnel have been killed in America’s 17-year-long conflict in Afghanistan.

About 14,000 US service members are currently stationed in Afghanistan, with the primary duty of training, assisting advising the Afghan forces.
