Unknown gunmen have attacked the house of a local police commander in Gereshk district of southern Helmand province, local officials confirmed on Monday.
 
Officials said one attacker was killed while three civilians and three policemen were wounded in the attack.
 
The attack took place on Sunday night in Gereshk district after two unknown gunmen attacked the house of and started clashes with the security forces, district governor Mohammad Ismael confirmed.
 
“One of the attackers was killed in the clash with the security forces and the second one escaped from the area,” he said, adding that “the commander was not hurt in the attack.”
 
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
