At least three people were killed on Saturday afternoon when unknown gunmen opened fire on them in Paghman district of Kabul, local officials said Sunday.

Three others were wounded in the attack, officials said.

Paghman district police confirmed the shooting and said the incident occurred when two unknown gunmen opened fire on security forces. As a result three people including one security forces’ officer and a woman were killed.

The attackers fled the area. The reason for the shooting is so far unclear but police have launched an investigation.
