Local officials said an IED was detonated close to a voter registration center in Baghlan province on Saturday afternoon.

The incident took place in Baghlan-e-Markazi district at about 3pm.

Local officials said one police force member was killed and two others were wounded in the blast.

The wounded are in stable condition, officials said.

In a second explosion , one civilian was killed and three others wounded in an explosion in Spin Boldak in Kandahar after a magnetic IED was detonated against a vehicle.

A police spokesman said one of the wounded was in critical condition.
