Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah held campaign rallies in three provinces on Wednesday, the last day of campaigning. He declared his confidence in a win and expressed his concerns about fraud by President Ghani’s team, the State Builder party.

“I want to assure you that the term of the ‘Lies Government’ is ending,” he said at a campaign rally in Kandahar. Abdullah currently shares executive power with President Ghani as the result of a campaign dispute in the 2014 elections.

Abdullah held campaign rallies in Kabul, Bamiyan and Balkh and said that he has never been against the appointment of certain ethnic groups in key government posts, referring to remarks by Ghani blaming Abdullah’s lack of ethnically diverse choices over the past five years.

“The so-called State Builder team made fake promises and did not deliver on their promises. They are not capable of being responsive to the people and they rely on fraud,” Abdullah said.

Members of Abdullah’s team warned that the country will move towards a crisis if electoral fraud is not prevented.

“The people of Afghanistan will never accept fraud,” the head of the High Peace Council Mohammad Karim Khalili said.

First Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum, who supports Abdullah’s team, called on the international community to prevent electoral fraud in the Afghan election at a gathering in Balkh.

“If you recognize Shaheed [Burhanuddin] Rabbani as your leader, the National Hero as a national hero and your commander, who supported you in a bad situation, who gave you fame-- if you respect him, you will betray him if you vote for them (Ghani’s team),” he said.

Meanwhile, the country’s Ismaili community led by Sayed Mansoor Naderi at a gathering in Kabul announced their support to Abdullah’s team, and residents at gatherings in Khost and Ghor provinces also announced their support for Abdullah’s team.
