At least 100 students representing schools from all over the country have been selected for performing three patriotic songs and Afghanistan’s national anthem ahead of the 100th Independence Day of Afghanistan that falls on 19 of August.

The students who came from various regions of the country were selected from amongst 800 competitors in Kabul. 

Prominent Afghan musicians are helping the students in their rehearsals. 

“They will perform live the national song of education on Independence Day. We will have other programs with them too because these students have good talents,” said Nooria Nuzhat, a spokeswoman for the Education Ministry. 

“We came in Kabul ten days ago. We are practicing four songs,” said a student from Badghis Qaseeda Saadati. 

The Afghanistan Pen Association is also playing a key role in preparing these students for three patriotic songs and national anthem. 

“I have a role in four anthems. I like all anthems,” a student from Kunduz province, Tamim Ansar said.

The Ministry of Education (MoE) says that Afs20 million has been allocated for the ministry and other preparation programs ahead of Independence Day.
